Sharp Launches Six Cloud-Ready Energy Efficient Printers |
Sharp has announced six new energy efficient black and white multifunction printers (MFPs) with cloud capabilities that it hopes will shake up the printing landscape.
The new devices are kind to the environment due to the new toner formulation that reduces the amount of energy used when printing and copying documents. The firms new Mycrostoner-CAP melts at a lower temperature and has one of the lowest Typical Electricity Consumption ratings.
“These six new cloud capable devices transform our black and white MFP line-up, offering fast, energy efficient and secure options for every medium to large business. With cloud capabilities, our MFPs are ready to meet the changing demands on how information is used and accessed,” said Rachel Dean, European Product Planning Manager, Sharp Europe.
When it comes to cloud capabilities, the MX-M565N, MX-M465N and MX-M365N all have wireless LAN connectivity as standard and the LCD panel lets users print documents that are stored in the cloud. As the devices are multi-functional, anything that is scanned can be stored directly in the cloud and users can subscribe to Sharp’s Cloud Portal Office to share documents with colleagues.
These three models also have a 10.1in multi-touch LCD panel, 1,200 x 1,200 dpi print resolution, 150 sheet duplex single pass feeder and can print at speeds of 56, 46 or 36 pages per minute depending on the model.
For those businesses that don’t already use the cloud the MX-M564N, MX-M464N and MX-M364N models are “future-proof” and ready for the cloud with the addition of optional wireless LAN and a Sharp OSA upgrade. They also have a 7in colour LCD panel, offer a 600 x 600 dpi print resolution and have a speed of 56, 46, or 36 pages per minute that is again dependent on the model.
Sharp has also used biomass plastic to construct the new printers and there are various energy and power saving features that increase its energy saving credentials even further. The printers don’t just have sleep mode and are able to ‘learn’ usage patterns that let them go to sleep at the right time and predict when inactivity will happen.
