A division of Sensient Technologies Corp. (STC) released a water-based solution for direct digital printing on compact and corrugated cardboard.As revealed, the new solution was jointly launched by Sensient Imaging Technologies of STC and Engico, which is a company specialized in advanced technology for corrugated packaging.
The company said the new colorful water-based inks are developed under the Sensijet® SX platform of Sensient. Also, combining Engico’s Aqua series of printers with the new inks can make processing print packaging and POS materials for indoor and outdoor applications easier. Sensient believes that the new solution helps make inks print on the cardboard without any pre-coating. The ink layer can still maintain its integrity and properties while folding or forming the box.
Sensient added that the inks can now be used on printers with piezo heads and apply to signs and graphics, decoration, packaging, etc.
